Hold all my calls!
Many of us are aware of the dangers of talking on your cell phone while driving. Well a Canadian software company may have come up with a solution.
Aegis Mobility announced Monday that it has created a software called called DriveAssistT (yes, the extra T is supposed to be there) that will hold calls coming through on your cell phone while you are driving. The software is programmed to detect when the phone is moving at car speed. When this happens, it sends a message to the cellular network to hold all calls and text messages until the driver is finished driving. Callers on the other end will hear a message letting them know that the person they are calling appears to be driving. Now I know you may be thinking "what if its an emergency"? In that case, the caller can hit a button to leave an emergency voice mail, which is put through immediately.
The DriveAssistT software will work on phones with Windows Mobile software, "smart" phones, or Symbian software, used in phones from Nokia and Sony Ericsson. It uses the phone's Global Positioning System chip to detect when it is moving, in addition to the cell-tower signal, as well as a Wi-Fi antenna (when applicable).
The safest way to drive, while still communicating, is to use a bluetooth headset. Click here and Get a free Jawbone headset. Be trendy and safe!

Pro-Bowler "Deactivated"
Larry Johnson, 28, of the Kansas City Chiefs has rushed for 417 yards and three touchdowns 6 weeks into the season. On September 28 against Denver, the only victory the Chiefs (1-4) have, Johnson gained 198 yards.
However, Johnson will be sitting out of this weeks game against the Tennesse Titans due to a "deactivation"* for violating team rules. This could be a "potentially crippling blow for a struggling young offense facing the NFL's last unbeaten team."[AssociatedPress.com]
Coach Herm Edwards has not stated what team rule was broken, but proclaims that it does not have anything to do with the simple assault charge brought against Johnson earlier this week for pushing a women in a night club back in February.
*Deactivation vs. Suspension: Suspension means the player will not be paid for the week and cannot practice.
Viva Pinata continues with Trouble in Paradise
The story behind this game is that pesky Professor Pester tried to steal the database of all the pinatas, but he bungled the job and deleted all the vital information on these magical creatures. Your job is to plant gardens that will entice the 100 or so different pinatas to your garden. If you meet their needs, they will be happy and fill up with candy so that you can send them off to a party. By attending a party, that pinata's information is then replaced in the database.
There are two ways to play this game: in the standard mode or Just for Fun. In both modes, you plant seeds, water and fertilize seedlings, and then wait to see which animals will venture into your garden. The basic concept is that different plants entice different pinatas. Since this is an ecosystem, some pinatas will be attracted to your garden because they like to eat the other pinatas already there. You also have the ability to create different terrains, including ponds, sand and snow.
Caring for pinatas is at the heart of this game. Each pinata has "residence" requirements, which may be as simple as having three poppy plants. Once those requirements are met, a visiting pinata will become a resident in a visually exciting video where it turns from black and white into a colorful resident. In addition to residence requirements, each species has more demanding romancing requirements. You also need to make sure your pinatas are happy, a state represented by their candiosity meter. Candiosity can be earned by naming them, or leading them to their favorite food. But not all pinatas are compatible, so you may have fights if you don't separate incompatible pinatas.[Source: USA Today]

Boxer reduces swelling with used diaper
"Baby wee is good because it's pure, doesn't contain toxins and doesn't smell," says the 37-year old boxer.
Side note: Water also contains no toxins and doesn't smell.
Needless to say, many (including myself) view this as quite disgusting. But one question continues to boggle my mind: Why is his 3-year old still wearing diapers? Those fights must be bringing in some major Hrivna (Ukraine Currency) becasue diapers aren't cheap, and on an average, children are wearing big kid undies by their 3rd birthday. But hey, if little Max was potty trained, how would daddy heal his hands after a fight...? Apparently Vitali Klitschko never heard of ice.

Osama for President?
TROY — It could have been Ovama or Ofama. Or even Olama. But with one "s" the Rensselaer County Board of Elections turned a single wrong letter into a national embarrassment Friday.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's last name is spelled "Osama" on some 300 absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County hilltowns.
Is it a Freudian slip, intentional gaffe or a mistake? Voters are sure to have opinions, and one politician pointed out that the letters "s" and "b" are not exactly keyboard neighbors.
"It was crazy, everybody across the country called," said Edward McDonough, the county's Democratic elections commissioner. He said calls came in from The New York Times, the New York Post, Daily News, Wall Street Journal and Court TV. McDonough said he was one of the people who received a misspelled absentee ballot at home, and he didn't even notice it.
Elections officials on both sides of the aisle insist a simple typographical error caused the national embarrassment. "It was a mistake innocently done," McDonough said. "We catch almost everything."

iPhone users can also take advantage of a keyword search function to obtain every Picture of the Day ever published, as well as saving their favorite pictures. And whenever you shake the iPhone or iPod Touch, it will randomly generate a new image.
Kenyan Elephant sends text message
Elephants in a particular part of Kenya have been raiding villagers' crops, causing some elephants (and farmers) to loose their lives and farm owners to loose out on up to six months worth of income. They try to fight the animals off, but they continue to come back. The Kenya Wildlife Service have already shot five elephants from the preservation who refused to stop crop-raiding. So the Save the Elephants Group came up with a plan. They placed a mobile SIM card in one of the the last surviving elephant-raiders, Kimani's collar. They set up a virtual "geofence" using a global positioning system that mirrored the preservation's boundaries. Whenever Kimani approaches the virtual fence, his collar sends a text message to the rangers letting them know he's coming.
After once being a nightly raider, the rangers have only intercepted Kimani 15 times since the project began.

Worst place to use earbuds or headphones
Harvard researchers found that in quiet surroundings, people tended to keep the volume at an ear-friendly level. However, when background noise was added, 80% boosted the volume as high as 89 decibels, a level that risks long-term hearing damage. If you are like me, and need music, it is better to use noise-canceling headphones. Get a free pair here.
Dodgers fight back against Philadelphia
So last week I reported how anxious I was for the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays to get into a fight like they did back in July. But to my surprise, it was the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies who got heated in Sunday nights game. However, no punches or ejections were made.
The stadium began to clear out in the third inning after Hiroki Kuroda threw a pitch over Shane Victorino's head, striking back for a pitch that went behind Manny Ramirez in Game 2.
"We just want to play the game right," Ramirez said. "We're a team and we need to protect each other. I wasn't trying to get anybody. I was there just in case anything happened. I just wanted to go out there and protect my teammates. I don't fight nobody. I'm a lover."
Final score: Dodgers 7, Phillies 2

Johnson accused of faking AIDS
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Minneapolis radio station said Friday it would air public service announcements on HIV/AIDS after a pair of talk hosts accused former NBA star Magic Johnson of faking AIDS.
KTLK's Chris Baker and Langdon Perry made the remarks during Baker's conservative talk show on Wednesday. After Johnson condemned the statements, the station said on Friday it regretted "some off-hand remarks" by the pair.
According to a partial transcript and audio clip posted on a media watchdog site, mediamatters.org, the remarks came after a caller asserted that health care isn't a basic right. Perry responded by asking about treatable diseases that a person can live with for a long time "if you just get some basic drugs."
Baker responded, "Like Magic Johnson?"
Perry replied, "Like Magic with his faked AIDS. Magic faked AIDS."
Baker said, "You think Magic faked AIDS for sympathy?"
Perry replied, "I'm convinced that Magic faked AIDS."
"Me too," Baker said.
Johnson issued a statement Thursday saying he was "outraged that Chris Baker and Langdon Perry would minimize such a serious and deadly issue."
"Millions are dying from HIV/AIDS, and the fact that they would make jokes about my status is unbelievable," Johnson said. "Chris, Langdon and KTLK should use their power in a more positive light by encouraging people to get tested for this disease instead of making up such ridiculous lies."
And look out for Johnson this NBA season, as he will be joining ESPN as a studio analyst. He will make his debut with the net on ABC’s “GMC NBA Countdown” before a Christmas Day tripleheader.

Really hoping for another fight
Free Tampa Bay Rays Jersey
As the Rays have proved time and again this season, they're not afraid of a good rumble. Back in June, James Shield and Coco Crisp (and multitudes of teammates) got into an ugly brawl in Fenway. Then Boston closer Jonathan Papelbon added to the hostilities by making some not-so-veiled threats of retaliation. It's obvious these two teams don't like each other. The Rays and Sox haven't come to blows since then, but will the pressurized environment of the ALCS ramp up the tensions?[Source: Fox Sports]
What should we expect from this series, first game starting tonight, at 8:37 pm EST. I personally would love to see a fight, but they will probably hold themselves back.
Realistic, High End Rock Band Accessory
Take your music gaming experience to the next level. With the Ion Drum Rocker, you're not playing games anymore - you're playing drums. The Drum Rocker delivers a set of four ultra-quiet pro-quality drum pads, a sturdy and highly configurable stand, cymbal pads and a rock-solid metal kick drum pedal. The result is a drum set controller that will last for years and give the gamer the ability to not only better enjoy their games, but also actually develop skills that will transfer to playing real drums. The Drum Rocker improves on existing drum controllers in a number of ways. The drum pads offer a more realistic response while dramatically reducing stick noise, putting the focus on the sound of the game rather than the sound of sticks hitting plastic drum pads. The cymbal pads allow the gamer to play cymbal parts as intended, rather than on the same pads they use to play drum parts. The metal kick drum pedal is far more playable and durable than the plastic pedal included with other controllers, and the aluminum stand avoids the one-size-fits-all approach of current controllers, allowing the player to set up their kit exactly how they want. 2. File your nails while they’re dry. You’ll get a better shape if you file before soaking

4. Wash away oil or lotion and dry the nails thoroughly.
5. Apply a basecoat to holds polish in place so it lasts longer.
6. Sweep on polish The way they do at salons, in three strokes, from base to tip.
7. Wait two minutes and apply another coat of polish on nails.
8. Wait another two minutes and finish with a topcoat
9. Touch up any polish mistakes After nails are dry working on wet nails guarantees smudging. Use a cotton swab and polish remover or try a pen made specific purposes. If you smudge, gently rub it out with a dab of polish remover. When dry, polish only affected area, then cover the entire nail topcoat.

Door room by day, hotspot by night
College dorm rooms are designed more for studying than socializing, but that didn’t stop Zack Anderson and RJ Ryan from creating a party spot in their cramped students’ quarters at MIT during their freshman year. The two enterprising electrical engineering and computer science majors designed a Multifunction In-Dorm Automation System, a.k.a. MIDAS, which uses voice activation to control web access, a music server, information displays, a security system, electric blinds, and more to showcase their tech talents as well as make their dorm a cool place to hang.
But it was the MIDAS “Party Button” that transformed the room from a geek retreat to a chic party place. Watch the video below and click here for your Free Bose Acoustimass Home Entertainment System Speakers.
Pushing the button turned off the lights, lowered the blinds, cranked up techno music over a 5.1 speaker system and activated an array of lights, including a sound-activated strobe and several lasers as well as a revolving disco ball, while a fog machine filled the roughly 9 x 12 space with a smoky ambiance. An LCD projector, computer monitor displaying Winamp visualization and an oscilloscope showing the waveform of the music create high-tech eye candy, while surveillance cameras recorded the whole scene. Emailing Under the Influence
Apparently Google has come up with a new Google Mail application that ensures that no more "drunk emailing" will be occurring. I am sure we all have done it once or twice and have regretted it in the morning. Now with the new application, you can make sure it won't happen anymore. With the new application, before you press Send, a window will pop up asking you 5 math problems. If you can answer them correctly in the allotted time, then it will allow your email to be sent. How crazy is that?!?!

While shopping for the entire family will be easier on the pockets at JCPenny, you can also expect to find great deals on toys, DVDs, and video games at Target and Kmart. At Khol’s, you can also anticipate large selections of boxed gifts for all your friends and family. And if you don’t plan on heading out to the trenches on Black Friday, Old Navy will be having great discounts online, now that the parent company has merged all of its brands into one shopping site.
For that DIY aficionado, or the neighbor with the green thumb, Sears, Ace Hardware, Home Depot and Amazon.com will have the tools, hardware and home and garden items at a perfect price.
Free $500 Visa Gift Card.
If toys are what your looking for, no doubt Toys – R – Us will dominate wth BOGO and B2G1 deals and lead-free, U.S. made toys. However, Walmart will be fierce competition with popular video games for only $10 and toys priced close to nothing.
Walmart may be dominating the electronics department with laptops expected to be in the $299 range, contending with Office Depot who will also have laptops in a similar price range (however, you may want to check online first for free shipping). Circuit City and Best Buy are expected to lure in consumers looking to upgrade to HDTVs, while also offering deals on digital picture frames and GPS. But amazingly, it is foreseen that Circuit City will be presenting crazy deals on quality home theater systems for less than $200!!
Hope this helped and don’t forget to get your Free $500 Visa Gift Card.
